   That is awful. I'm so sorry. My house was burglarized years ago, but at least nbdooy was hurt and the cats were all still inside. The guy got away with a bunch of silver jewelry (i.e., cheap) from my recently deceased grandmother, along with a ring from my long-deceased great-grandmother. None of the stuff the jerk stole could have been worth more than $20. I found it especially depressing because we live in a poor part of the city and when the guy broke in, he must have noticed that we didn't have one single nice thing; I believe we were still using a slipcovered lawn chair as a chaise longue. The idea that a human being, no matter how debased, thought that his need for drugs was greater than my need for a ring so old that the band was worn through it boggles my mind.
